My favourite was the Osaka in its prime. I've had a frustrating time with it though and you wouldn't recognise it at the mo. All my corals started dying, shrinking or dropping heads despite text book parameters. It's only been in the last few weeks (after much head scratching and a near miss tank shut down) that after removing all the xenia in the tank, things have begun to pick up again.
I am slowly having to start from scratch again with LPS frags to begin with, but am heartbroken to have lost so many beautiful corals that I've nurtured on, mostly from my first ever tank. The annoying thing is it's all down to a 'weed' of a coral that I used to love so much!

Gutted, but determined to succeed again!

great looking tanks .... just wondered does the valentini puffer nip any of your corals and how difficult are they to keep?

Wilson, I have two - a valentini in the osaka and a leopardi in the vision and they both leave the corals be. I did notice a round mark in my yellow leather the other day but am reliably informed it was there when I got it home by the OH

They do both nip at things on the rockwork or the stony bases of some corals but never the flesh. They eat small snails, the spines of my tuxedo urchin on occasion (the leopardi is the culprit) but I haven't lost any hermits or the turbos and the sand conch remains unpecked. They also love mixed frozen foods like enriched brine shrimp, mysis, krill, mussels, clams and the like.
They are a shy fish at times but bold at others and I love them both
I have known of some tobys that nip at corals all the time though, according to their owners, but mine must be too well fed

    Diver - thanks, I think

for all that info Jenny. Fell in love with one at my LFS the other day and got home and did some research and everything I found said they nip corals, then I noticed yours in a tank with coral and thought hmmmmmm lol....

for that, and like I said, really stunning tanks
