Just to add, I've also got an essay due on the 15th of march and a presentation on the 19th of April for my MSc and a few other training sessions for work.

Going to drain the tank 1st thing as only got chromis today and think it may be a little much. Then pop to timbre merchants around the corner and the top frame recut with another accross and two more up rights in 4x2 rather than the 3x2 at the moment. Then rebuild, varnish, restart and hope for the best! Got a couple of bits that could do with tweaking at the same time. I'll probably get to a glaziers and get the glass cut for the sump ATO and back of the DSB while it's empty. Back to work on monday for my next block. I've been hammering the overtime as SWMBO has been made redundant so this was my 5 days to relax and tank watch with my new scape and new fish.

    A rather large vent.

That's what I'm thinking. Especially as I'm planning on LPS mid march so even more to take out. Just about to measure up and sort a shopping list for tomorrow.

The tank is emptied except for the coral sand. But it's a lift then down so should be alright. Then tomorrow it's going to be construct the new top, add uprights, refill, put new baffles in sump.

Got the tank off the cabinet now an noticed a drip from one of the outlet pipes. The glass has cracked between the outlet and inlet and a small crack the other side of the inlet. Any ideas? I've got none other than a hammer.

Can I patch this as its in the weir and take the plumbing apart and put a sheet with holes in on the bottom on the inside with a fair amount of silicone. Thats all I can think of. I never noticed it before so not sure if it came from moving or what.

I've also copied this into help and advice.

Just a couple of pics of the top frame crack and its bowed at the front....
So this is my fault I think. I'm putting in two off centre supports so all four corners of the actual tank are supported as the cabinet extends 10" to one side to fill the gap where it is in the alcove. These are 4x2". This will make it easier to access the sump also than central pillars.

The cabinets been rebuilt with a bit more efficient in making sure all the joints are true and also have two extra 4x2 uprights and the frame on top is now 4x2 and goes to the back instead of stopping before the pipework which I think was problematic so the tank can go strait through the gap I've made. Will get it back on the cabinet Monday and then start AGAIN when I get some more epo putty. Need another hose tail for the return as had to butcher it.

And...... the tanks not cracked. It was me being stupid and over reacting to a mark on the glass which cleaned off. Thankfully!

    So the pipework was leaking?

I think it may have been so as its dry I'm taking the pipework out and wrapping the joints with self amalgamating tape. Then going to reset the bulkhead fittings and silicon them in place. I did that last time but left the rubber washer in place so I'll remove that but leave the hard one in place.

If the horizontal members were bowing then adding noggins will cure that.
