Default Dave's salty adventure UPDATED 8/4/12

I have finally decided to return to the hobby of fish keeping, this time salty and done correctly ( I hope )
I looked around for a tank and after signing up to TSB I was advised by Marine Madness to speak to Jez@poseidon . I ordered a 700mmx700mmx900mm (900mm deep) tank with suitable sump. This is going to be ready on about the 14th Nov.
So ... I had decided that the tank was to go in an alcove in the dining room, the problem was I had to decorate it first lol. I decorated and then the living room. When Karen came home she decided the Tv would look better on the wall hence freeing up this area in the living room for my tank
I will be supporting the floor tomorrow and new carpets next week
I bought all sorts of goodies - so thanks to Jez, Deb&Wayne, Gordon and Toby
    I also bought some LED's

Will try and keep up to date as I progress so please bear with me as I go along
to all for the advice I have been given so far!!! Many more questions to come LOL

Are you siting the tank square in the corner, or angled across the corner? Our first was a cube, and it looked good angled, but when sat square in it was difficult to see properly.

I was going to sit it central in the alcove allowing more room for the cabinet and it still looking central. I know what your saying tho. It will be in the corner to the right of the seating area so 2 faces of the tank will be seen if you get me ?

Yeah, it'll be okay I'm sure. Good call on supporting the floor. our Percula 90 doesn't move a millimeter when people walk past it, due to the concrete blocks under the joists. I jacked 'em up with a car jack and inserted the blocks, then jacked back down again.

I have approx 3 foot under the floor so will support through the honey comb sleeper walls and slate pack the primary joist up. With there being such a big area under there Im thinking of incorporating an over flow from the sump direct to ground?
