    Default Durky's Marine Aquatics Gloss White 48" x 26" x 24"

Well here I go again, well almost as the tank is still around 6-7 weeks away but thought I would make a start on the tank thread

    I have ordered a 48" x 26" x 24" from Marine Aquatics. After hearing good things about Pete's and Alex's tanks I'm pretty sure I won't be disapointed.

The tank will have a right hand weir with twin stand pipes and a third pipe for the return over the top of the weir. Background will be black (in memory of my vision 260 ). Cabinet will be finished in gloss white with push to open doors.

The stand will also be steel framed, so if the Mrs decides she don't like the colour in a week or two the panels, doors etc.. can just be changed.

Sump (3ft) will house from left to right -

    Section 1
MCE600 on the right hand end of the sump
    Inlet from main tank
    Filter sock
    Heater

    Section 2
    65w Daylight Bulb and Reflector
    M.Mud
    Cheato

    Section 3
    Return pump (Compact 3000)
    Reactor for carbon
    Reactor for rowa

Somewhere in the mix will be the calcium reactor, although Im not sure if this is going in the cabinet or to the right of the stand (space dependant)

Lighting will be an ATI 8 x 54w dimable sunpower unit, tubes I have yet to decide on.

All the live rock from my old tank has had a good old scrub, power washed and been soaking in cold RO with a little vinager for just over a week at Mr Hazeys house ( get out of that one byropsis ). I have also set up a box at my house with some additional rock in, some from my old tank and some new. The rock I'm killing off atm at my house will be salted and up to temp in around 4 weeks to allow some good pest free live rock into the tank to help seed the batch at Dave's.

All the corals I wanted to keep are at Rob's and I understand they are doing well for the regular hair cut they get

So the next jobs are to take down the hanging brackets to be powder coated white, paint the wall that the tank is going on and have 2 additonal double sockets put on the wall directly behind the new tank. Once thats done the ATI unit can be hung

Stock wise I have no idea atm other than it will be SPS with the odd sand based LPS coral

Early stages of planning and the best laid plans and all that, but at least I have started the diary to keep a track of all the cock ups along the way. Interesting pics later of a blank wall and some rock in a vat!!!

I love the skimmer too much

I would rather opt for the extra room in the cabinet and go with my reeffloat top up at the side.

Can't wait for my new one matey
