Default Positioning of my New Powerhead

After some views and advice on the positioning of my newly purchased Koralia Powerhead.

I have a Orca 450 Nano Tank. I have positioned the Powerhead currently next to the spary bar and towards the top of the water level so that is gives the water surface good movement.

    Is this correct ?

Or should it be the opposite side to the spray bar and positioned further down the tank to give movement in the main body of the water.

Not sure what the correct way is as new to this game

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you have surface movement from the spray bar then point it towards your live rock

The spray bar does give surface movement but not powerful at all on the ORCA

Ok point the spray bar downward and have the powerhead hitting the water surface. As much variation in water movement is best

Good idea, is it more important to have the strong flow on the surface and just some flow in the water ?

Both to be honest. Surface movement to allow good gas exchange at the waters surface and good all round flow to push water through and around the live rock for filtration and to prevent dead spots.

Does the powerhead have to stay on 24/7

I had my spray bar giving surface movement and the powerhead on the opposite side aiming slightly at the rocks.

It depends on your corals and scape. I had endless trouble trying to get it right as my corals didn't like the flow.

On my old TL-450. I used the spray bar to one the surface. I found it really powerful.
I then had a Koralia Nano placed in the back left of the tank and pointed towards the front right. Worked for me.
