i would go for the cheaper option an not use live sand as the sand you already have in your tank will populate the new sand you put in your tank.

    Hope this helps

Personally I think live sand is a waste of money. How can it be live after being bagged up shipped and being sat in warehouses.

have you got the fine grade at the moment? if you have then i would keep whats in the tank an just add the new stuff on top an it will quickly populate to live sand. but if you have thicker grade (gravel like) then you can take it out which will of course higher your nitrates and nitrites but even though it is new it will also get quickly populated by your live rock.

    Hope this helps

We stock the TMC sand we have/get 25kg sacks (cant remember price) and we have/get 5kg bags which are about £5.50 from memory.

    Hope this helps
