Keep on keeping on mate, it'll pay off. Few days ago myself I was questioning whether I should bother as it's one thing after another. Keep the faith.

Yep I sometimes wonder whether I'm doing the right thing reef-keeping as well. About 3 weeks ago I put a small Kole Tang and a McCosker's Wrasse in a my QT. Three days later came home form work and the water was cloudy so did a water change - seemed to do the trick then 2 days later the same thing happened and Nitrites and ammonia were quite high so I took the fish out of the QT (ORCA 450) and put into my 16 Lit Betta with some live rock, filter, P/Head and mature tank water from my other tank. The wrasse sulked a bit but eventually both were swimming around happily - this Saturday (2 weeks later) I decided to put them back into the ORCA (had no nitrite or ammonia for at least 10 days) as the Betta was too small for them. They looked happy enough but by Sunday the Wrasse had disappeared (presumed dead) and on Monday the Tang died Did I do the wrong thing - had I left them in the glass box would they still be alive but it was getting difficult to maintain decent water quality for them even with a small 1 Litre water change a day. - I don't know. You try to do what's best for your livestock and it doesn't always work out in what can be a frustrating, heart-breaking but very rewarding hobby
