Drop the hydrometer and go for a refractometer, hydrometers are pretty inaccurate.

You seem to have most of it covered, but there are better makes than others so it depends what you planning on buying manufacturer wise.

Id drop the live sand and just get regular coral sand. Live is not very live anyway and is more expensive. Your sand will soon become live with the live rock you are using.

Cool thanks guys, one thing I just noticed is missing is the salt.... It's been a long day. Hopefully an early finish tomorrow so I can go and spend some money..... And to please my missus I may have to get the engagement ring we've been talking about too!!

    hi there

What size tank are you aiming to go for as personally this will very much vary other kit you may or may not need.

There is also the question of are you going to buy your own R.O water or buy an R.O unit, and mix your own salt or buy salted water?

It would also be useful to know what you want to put in your tank, fish only, soft corals, SPS corals???
