iodine tests

got a salifert iodine tests kit. and done a test on my tank getting no color at all.
and i put some iodine in the tank it is salifert one to. at dose 5ml per 100liters my tank is 233liters so 10ml in the tank gave it two hours so the test kit is it right. as it say will up it by 0.04mg/l(ppm) that is iodide + iodate and i have done all off the test with the kit.?????

If dosing iodine I was always told to remove carbon, are you running carbon?

Not heard that before. I dosed and ran carbon with no issue.

I was told it depleted iodine out of the water much like it does with medicines etc... How fast or if it is true /shrug just throwing options Into the debate pan

i have used carbon in the tank from day one.soming to look into. they say that new salt mix as iodine in it but reading a test that salifert have done that is is false.but saying this d/d salt mix says it as it in.

i get the carbon out for now and see.

i heard skimming removes iodine ?

looking in to it. what i do is turn off the skimmer and get the carbon out and see.
