Adding Photos to The Salty Box

This guide shows you how to add photos of your tank, livestock and so on to The Salty Box for all of us to view.

The guide uses PhotoBucket. A free online storage website for photos. PhotoBucket is widely used and provides an easy way of holding your photos in one location and linking to these photos.

Create and account

These photos show you the steps taken to create an account in PhotoBucket

Navigate to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket


Click on Sign Up


Enter your details

and Click on Sign Me Up

You'll be asked if you want a Paid account


I have selected No to keep with the free one


You'll then be presented with your photobucket screen


Click on Upload to get some files added


You'll have an upload screen appear


Click on Upload Now


Choose the photos you want uploaded from your computer. You may have to find your photos on your computer.


Click Open or Select


Your photos will start to upload


Once the upload completes, you'll be shown a message like this


Now click on Save and Continue to my album


You'll be asked if you want a theme.


I chose to ignore this and pressed Cancel


Your photos will be shown in your album


To add a photo into your post, hover over a photo (you might sometimes need to click it rather than hover) and it will be enlarged with some other items


Just like this


Click on IMG Code and it will display copied as you click in it for a short while. If it fails to display copied, then highlight the text and use Ctrl+C or Cmd+C to copy the code


Navigate to your post


Enter whatever text you want and the photo IMG Code you copied earlier can be pasted into the text box


Press Preview to view your post, or Submit to post it to the forum and you image will appear in the post
