    Default Daves Aquarium.....

in Bolton. I'd posted saying how bad I thought it was and Lukini said he didnt have problems there so I payed them another visit. I must have gone at bad times in the past as the place looked a hole to me then lol but nipped in there today as I was passing and needed some salt, and its not as bad as I said. Tanks look loads better, can now see through the glass as Luke said prices are good and there is a good variety. They also have loads of dry goods. They have some wicked looking frogfish in and a decent size healthy looking clown tang

I'll probably even go there again. Thought it only fair to post this as Id slagged them off on here in the past

I went in there the other day with my girls just to show them the new reptile room. Obviously I had a gander at the marine section & have to say it has improved 100%
A little further required in my eyes before I buy anything but it's getting there. I hope they do as it's on my doorstep.
I know one of the places they direct import from is Waynes World.
My friend bought a powder blue from Dave's on Friday & it is gorgeous.

Well done to the staff & the money men behind it all.

    Dave

Glad you agree Dave, I was beginning to think Id been too harsh in the past lol

I hope it keeps improving as they do have a good variety of stuff in, I think someone told me they direct import which probably explains that and the good prices

You two have caught my imagination now. Last time I was in there it was a right tip, half the tanks were empty, wrong labels, staff messing about etc., etc.. Will have to call and see for myself but if it's on the up that can only be a good thing.
    Cheers,

    John

I wouldnt have posted if it wasnt on the up mate and defo wouldnt cause people a wasted journey. Dont get me wrong it can still improve but the fish tanks were all clean, all the fish bar one tang, which I told my lad was asleep and you get in every shop, looked great. Reptile/rabbit bit stinks my lad was covering his nose making pretend sick noises so I didnt go in there hes mard like his Dad

They do some awesome looking chinese aquariums one of which I was going to buy when I started out before I found my bargain and loads of dry goods. One bit I like is they stock all the "cheaper" chinese products, powerheads, pumps etc

Its just the fish bit thats always put me off in the past, I did post saying Id never visit again out of principal but after a search I think its been deleted!

Worth a visit with the kids anyway

I was in today too and thought it looked a bit better.

The coral tables where still a bit manky. They had two lovely jewelled puffers in too and a couple of fantastic frog fish. Didn't stop too long as there was a kid pretending to be sick and I have a trigger gag reflex.

Bought a new scraper for 7.17 though.

PMSL read that and thought "no way that was us!" Then realised Id posted it above and you are taking the pee. Although if you saw a 3yr old with his t-shirt covering his nose it was us

I was actually in today and thought it was a little better, they even had some supplements in stock - no rowaphos but seem to stock Kent Marine stuff and a few bits and bobs.
