ok...

I have bought the Wave Polario 22,000lph model a couple of weeks back
and here is my review so far.

the cost of the unit is £225 for the 22,000lph model, and £199 for the 15,000lph model
so for me the choice was obvious on my 6 foot tank to go for the extra 7,000 lph for an extra £25,,makes sense. and i can always turn it down.

The unit itself is good quality, and has a decent feel to it, i had to do quite a bit of rearranging to accomodate it though, which is mainly down to having my central weir.

It comes with a super strong magnet, that i struggle to move once its on the glass ( it will never move ), and a controller

The controller itself gives you various options, you can choose to have it alternating left to right from 15 seconds right through to 30 minutes. and has feed mode too, either 8 minutes or 16 minutes.

Included in the box is 2 x sieve directional outlets, and 2 x pipe connectors i think my model will take 50mm pipe in the latter. ( i will go into this later )
also included in the box is a swivel mount, which i found stuck the pump out too far for my liking, which was mainly due to the pump being fitted to the front of my weir.

the swivel mount is optional, as the pump will clip directly to the magnet

So included in the box :

Pump, Magnet mount, controller, 2 different types of outlets, and a swivel mount.

I also bought the mini led moonlight to go with this as my moonlights had packed in, although on arriving i realised it could plug into the unit, which it save a power socket, however it doesnt control it, so mine will be used seperately on a timer.

So as you can see from the picture the unit itself is a fair size,( i have big hands )
and is about 1 and a half tunzes with the endcaps on.

I tried it without any outlets on for the first few days, but even at the lowest setting, my lps didnt like it, so i have chosen for now to have the directional outlets.

The 50mm pipe outlets is a future mod for me as this also gives a similar output to having no adaptors fitted. i think i may be able to pipe off them and have the outlets to the sides of the weir, by fitting a couple of elbows to go round the weir.
by doing this my lps wouldnt me getting a direct hit then

without any adaptors on, i get underwater tornado's at either end of the tank :o

All in all i think its a good unit, and for £225 all in, its definately an option worth considering, as similar outputs tunze 6200 for example are around £300 without mag or controller.

If money was no object, i would probably still have the Vortech mp40w , but in my tank i think i would need 2, so thats the best part of £600, that i cant justify at the moment.

Another thing to note is, when i had the 4 tunzes in, my tank would not go below 27 degrees, but since i have taken them out, it runs constant 25.5 night - 26.5 day...result. I am sure the vortech will have the same effect as the motor is external.

Hope it was understandable for you all, as i tend to waffle a bit

any questions, or if you want to see it in action give me a shout
here is a vid, you can see the vortexes on the surface, and the lettuce clip being battered

Will insert vid,,,when the bucket is finished maintenance [wink.gif] Chris...lol

Cheers
