    Default WM-2500 powerhead review

Just took delivery of my new WM-2500 which i ordered Tuesday (speedy delivery) by All Pond Solutions. First impression as i took it out the box was a pretty robust unit with easy removal of front casing to reveal impeller. The unit is about 4" long and runs at low 3w of power and weighs 0.25kg. There is about 1m of cable on it so some of you may want to extend it for your requirements. It also comes with suction and magnetic mounts.

Itching to get it running and changing it for my jewel 600lph powerhead i read the box and destructions and clunked it in the tank (This was quite literally so take note of this next bit and have a chuckle). The box clearly says magnet is very powerful but only warns you to keep your fingers clear. My main concern was when it snapped together like a bear trap and nearly went through the tank causing myself massive palputations and a severe twitching of the bunghole. I would suggest if you use this method put some cardboard or something to cushion the impact or do what i did and used the suction mount to prevent a major foul-up PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS LOL

Scary bit over, the running of it was very good, giving plenty of circulation around my Rio 125 tank. I initially thought it maybe too powerfull for my tank, but i was wrong, its good. Noise level to me was a bit noisy, but i have never used a powerhead like this so cant really compare it to others. The humming sound could be due to the fact that its echoing alot under the light hood on my Rio and the water is only 3 parts full. When i open the lid a bit the sounds goes down so i will have a play with this to make it quieter.

I would give this product 8/10 just cus of the noise, but like i said the majority will be vibration of the lid.

Just thought i would share this with you especially for newcomers (like myself) and experienced alike. Hope this helps.

And at 14.99 what more could you as for.

    Brew time me thinks

Ps this is just my review
