Default Equipment shopping list, Opinions Please

    Hi all,

After a nice mornings drive to sunny Wales I became the proud owner of a 26" Cube on a gloss white cabinet.

It holds 300 ltrs including the sump.

I'm ready to start spending the ££££'s and wanted your opinions on the equipment I'm looking to purchase.

Skimmer - Bubble Magnus Nac 7
Reactor - Bubble Magnus Mini 80 with Rowaphos
Return Pump - Sicce Syncra Silent 3.0
    Powerheads - Tunze 6045 x 2
    Heater - Visi-Therm 300W
    Lights - AI Sol 40/70 & Controller

Opinions and directions please. Quite new to marine and stepping up from a TMC 15.

    Cheers Ed

Note sure on the size of the Skimmer, but check the footprint and water level requirements before purchase.
As for Return pump, I run Eheim, so cannot comment on the Siccie but Eheim Compact and Ocean Runners are the norm in terms of reliability and noise levels.
    You might want to consider another Tunze, or similar powerhead. I ran 2 x 6025 and a MP10 in a 2ft cube. I now run 1 x 6025, 1 x 6045 and a MP10.
Heater, you might want to consider 2 x 200w, or 2 x 300w. Keeping one as a failsafe. Many people also use a temperature controller such as a TC-10.

I know the previous owner was running a BM Nac 6 so that works but would have to double check if the Nac 7 fits.

for the heads up on the TC-10, I've just been reading builds including them. Note taken on two heaters rather than one.

Quick picture from sale ad. It's still in my garage, hopefully move to the house tomorrow if this snow *****es off!

Looks a stunning tank the nac6 is abit smaller than the nac7. I bought a nac7 that didnt fit so swapped it on here for a nac6 both are good skimmers

Just reading about the Skimmers and they say a water level of 9.5"-11".

My sump baffle is 200mm high, will either the Nac6 or Nac7 still work?

Logic says no, however in reality you can force the sump to run higher if you raise the primary drain (assuming it's twin pipe drain) higher so the drain from the tank in the even of a power cut will be lower.
Hope that makes sense and may be the way it is set up.

However running above the baffle height does mean that bubble stops etc do not work as intended, this may not be a problem though.

It's has a Single Durso and Return, I know that much don't fully understand what your saying.

Heres a picture of the previous owners setup in the sump.

That sump level is pretty low. I would say try it and find out
