A predatory species that needs a carnivore diet. Has conical teeth adapted for grasping small free swimming crustaceans. In the aquarium, it will usually accept live, fresh and frozen meaty foods.

Temperament / Behavior: Very territorial, and intolerant of own kind. Do not house with small fish that the Hawkfish could consider as prey.
